It’s always interesting. Her instructions are simple. She’ll say something like, “I need a red pair of shoes to match a red costume,” or “I want to be a ballerina,” then describe the kind of character she has in mind. Then it’s pretty much “omakase,” which means I have the freedom on how to interpret her instructions. Her most recent request was a tough one. She wanted the heel to be filled with liquid so it looked kind of like a lava lamp. I had to try out a few ideas, but it worked out in the end.
